Redskins RGIII Painting

I have not posted on this blog on quite a while, but I figured now that I am freelancing I should ad more work. I recently did an Washington Redskins RGIII oil painting for my fan cave for the upcoming season What can I say. I am a big Redskins fan. When I uploaded and hash tagged the Redskins, they picked it up and did an article on me on their website blog. It was very cool to be recognized by the organization that I am such a huge fan of.

Today's Project: Rifle Pen Illustration

Today I worked on an Illustration for packaging on a rifle pen for DMA. I think it turned out ok. The trick was to try and get a tight Illustration done in a short amount of time. 8 hrs. When you have a project like this one you have to decide what is most important and focus on only certain details. The soldiers face was the focal point so that is what I honed in on.

DETAIL

ILLUSTRATION DETAIL FINAL (after changes)

The face was thought to look a little to exhausted and somber so I made the soldier a little more focused and angry looking and tightened up the details a bit. Pretty happy with the way the final turned out.

Brave's Baseball Card

This is a baseball card I did back in the day for the Richmond Braves. Obviously I am posting in no particular order relative to time. This piece was done traditionally. I don't even know if computers were around back then, : ) This was done with airbrush acrylics with the details drawn in with colored pencils. Still have it in my portfolio collecting dust.

NASA Marketing Campaign

This was a collateral marketing campaign I did for NASA when I worked there as a designer. It was designed for the kickstart program to get everyone on board to the new vision of discovery that was implemented at the time to go to the moon, mars and beyond. That is still NASA's vision today.

First Post

I have decided to start a blog of my Artwork. Past , Present and Future. I hope to generate interest from people that may be interested in using me as a freelancer as well as people that just want to see some of my work. Hope it all works out!

This first post is a portrait of Marilyn Monroe I drew with a wacom all in photoshop some years back. I did it just as I would a traditional piece of artwork. My skills have vastly improved in photoshop since then, but I still like the way it turned out.

Cheers!
